Research has shown that children learn through play, and so this is the main approach we take at Cregagh Pre-School. The children have the freedom to choose from a range of activities inside and outside of the room, apart from the structured times like Story Time and Circle Time. The staff’s role is to facilitate this learning process whilst preparing them for entry into Primary 1.
It is the policy of Cregagh Pre-School to provide and maintain equality of opportunity for all children and parents/carers within the group. This policy is based on the premise that each child/carer is of equal worth and importance, irrespective of his/her religion, class, race, gender, sexuality or disability.
We recognise and value parents as the first educators of their children and are therefore committed to developing ways of working in partnership with parents to promote the best interests of the children in our care. The Pre-School aims to foster good relationships with parents by creating and maintaining an informal and homely atmosphere where communication is natural, genuine and positive.
Hard copies of our full policy and procedures are available on request from Julie Duncan.
